The San Mateo League for Coastside Protection is a Political Action Committee composed of your neighbors and residents of the San Mateo County Coast.  This Committee works actively to maintain and improve the quality and beauty of the magnificent California coast by supporting elected officials who uphold the spirit and substance of the California Coastal Act. The committee (ID 1234363) was founded in May of 2001.

California Coastal Act: The California Coastal Initiative (Proposition 20), overwhelmingly supported by the voters in 1972, was made permanent by the California Coastal Act in 1976. The Coastal Act is administered by the California Coastal Commission, and is supplemented by Local Coastal Programs (LCPs)

Our Local Coastal Programs (LCPs) reflect years of community interaction and planning.  These programs are intended to protect and improve the quality of the place where we live.   Our local government officials need to hear and know our mandate that these programs must receive enforcement.

We live in such a beautiful place, and we want to keep it that way. That’s what the League of Coastside Protection strives to do!  All of the League’s goals and efforts are aimed at protecting and enhancing the coast’s unique character and environment and keeping it fully accessible for visitors as well as ourselves so that all may experience fully this woderful place.

Join: As so many of your neighbors and coastal residents have done, please join us. Your membership will help elect candidates who support and respect our laws - candidates who promise to use these laws proactively to protect our coastal communities and natural resources.

Past Endorsements & Events: Every candidate or issue that we have taken a position on is on our issues page, our candidates page, or on our past endorsements & events page. If it's not, we didn't take a position on it.
